Shannon Smith was born and raised in Kentucky where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts at Northern Kentucky University. She moved to Tucson, Arizona to attend graduate school at the University of Arizona, where she earned her Master of Fine Arts in 2006. She was an Image Maker Presenter at the 49th Society for Photographic Education Conference in San Francisco, received the Award of Excellence at the Beyond the Lens exhibition at the Tubac Center of the Arts, was named one of Fraction Magazine’s Top 50 Photographers, and has had work included in four Arizona Biennial exhibitions consecutively, just to name a few. Her work has been published and exhibited nationally.
